Forest Hill Presbyterian Church
Who are we? We are a new congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) serving the Forest Hill area of Harford County, Maryland.
How are we different? Our goal is not to be different for the sake of being different; our focus in on being faithful to God's call on us as a church to make disciples and to reach our neighbors and the nations with the love of Jesus Christ.
What is our mission? We are committed to being deeply rooted in God's word and to reaching our neighbors and the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
How are we structured? We are a Presbyterian church, which means that we have elders who are called, elected, ordained and installed to lead the congregation and shepherd the flock of God under their care.
How are we accountable? As a mission church of the Chesapeake Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), we are connected and accountable to other churches in our presbytery. We are also under the direct oversight of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, our sponsoring church in Abingdon.
What do we believe? We are a confessional, Reformed church. We believe in the authority and inerrancy of Scripture and in the central importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We hold to the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed, like all other Christian churches. We further hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith with its Larger and Shorter Catechisms. We believe that our commitment to the standard creeds and confession of Reformed Presbyterian churches keeps us grounded in solid truth and prevents us from drifting away from the "faith delivered once for all to the saints." (Jude 3)
What are we like? If you come to worship at Forest Hill, you'll find us to be a warmly welcoming church. Our worship style is structured and reverent without being stuffy or cold. Our desire is to worship God in a warm, joyful, Christ-centered and welcoming manner.
