Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since 1983
What is your primary product or service?
Boarding Kennels is the official answer, but I've always said that our primary service is Peace of Mind and worry-free vacations.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I knew this was what I wanted to do my whole life. I became a professional groomer at age 16 and operated my own salon before moving to Harford County in 1975. After having three children my husband built our first 20 run boarding kennel on our farm near Jarrettsville. Today two of my three sons have joined me in the operations of all three of our kennels.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are unique in that we give our undivided attention to our furry guests. Most businesses that offer boarding do so as an adjunct to another dog related business, i.e. breeder, veterinarian, etc.
We work hard at building relationships with the pets so that they love coming and being with us.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have three locations. The original kennels in the Jarrettsville-Madonna area, our Delta, Pa kennels at 6400 Delta Rd. 1-800-666-4738(Rt. MD165/PA74) and our newly opened facility at 23 Kratz Rd. Just 1 1/2 miles from I-83 Shrewsbury exit. 1-877-214-7387
